The Shires Two Ring Copper Lozenge Gag is a versatile, double-jointed bit designed to offer adjustable leverage and poll pressure while promoting a soft, responsive mouth. It is particularly effective for strong or sensitive horses that tend to pull or lean on the bit.

- Mouthpiece Material: Stainless steel with a central copper lozenge. The copper creates warmth and encourages salivation to keep the mouth soft and responsive.
- Mouthpiece Thickness: 16mm.
- Cheek Design: Features a 2-ring gag setup (also known as a continental or bubble bit).
- Proportional Sizing: To keep the bit balanced in smaller mouths, sizes 4.5" and 5" feature smaller rings with a 120mm cheek height. Sizes 5.5" and 6" utilize standard rings with a 145mm cheek height.
Function & Action
- Adjustable Leverage: Attaching the reins to the main large ring acts like a standard snaffle. Moving the reins to the smaller lower ring introduces poll pressure and a limited gag action to lift the horse's head and forehand.
