NAF NaturalintX Hoof Poultice is a veterinary-approved, 100% natural, multi-layered dressing anatomically shaped to comfortably fit the sole of a horse's foot. Pre-cut to minimize preparation time, it features a blend of Tragacanth (1.12g per dressing) to naturally draw out deeply embedded infection and Boric Acid (0.39g per dressing) to provide safe, mild antiseptic cleaning.
Preparation Options
Depending on the specific foot ailment you are treating, the hoof shape dressing can be applied in three distinct ways:
- Hot Hoof Poultice (For Abscesses, Puncture Wounds, and Corns): Submerge the pre-shaped pad into boiled water that has cooled down to an acceptable "hand-hot" temperature. Once fully saturated, remove it and gently squeeze out the excess moisture. Place the wet side directly against the clean hoof sole, keeping the smooth plastic layer facing outward away from the skin.
- Cold Hoof Poultice (For Laminitis Flare-ups, Bruised Soles, and Inflammation): Soak the pad in cold, pre-boiled water before laying it onto the sole. For enhanced thermal relief, put the wet pad inside its sealed plastic packaging and place it in the refrigerator to chill thoroughly prior to use.
- Dry Hoof Poultice (For Protecting Wounds and Managing Heavy Discharge): Apply the clean dressing straight out of the box directly onto the hoof. It functions as a sterile, highly absorbent cushion to safeguard open injuries from stable grime and arena dirt.
